“They Won’t Have To...”

They won’t have to get it out the mud.

They won’t have to struggle in the way we did.

They won’t have to build support systems because it’ll already be built for them.

They won’t have to detox from school systems that were never built for them anyway.

They won’t have to know what it’s like to bring children into this world during adversity.

They won’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to screams of abuse.

They won’t have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

They won’t have to work for anyone else but us and themselves.

They won’t have to wonder if they have an inheritance.

They won’t have to get out the house just because they turned 18.

They won’t have to come up with money for their first cars.

They won’t have to come up with money for their first homes.

They won’t have to fight over property because provisions weren’t made.

Why?

Because they have parents and a community that's making sure they don’t have to live the struggle life.

Take a good look...you’re looking at amazing Black Children being raised and developed in privilege and I make not one damn apology for it.
